QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Q: What's different about the Schumann bed developed by ITRI?

A: Most Schumann Resonance products on the market generate energy through sound, light, and magnetism, with a design principle of 7.83 Hz single frequency. The Schumann Cloud Bed, developed by the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), utilizes a brainwave resonance stress-relieving module based on the "brainwave pull phenomenon." By pulling and guiding the autonomic nervous system through brainwaves, it effectively achieves a state of physical and mental balance. Changes in the body's normal physiological rhythms are often precursors or danger signals of disease; correcting these rhythms can prevent and treat certain illnesses. Schumann Resonance belong to extremely low-frequency resonant conduction, almost identical to the alpha waves of the brain in the healthiest and calmest state. Setting goals can promote sympathetic and parasympathetic balance and relieve stress, using resonance to create an optimal balance from the inside out, achieving early prevention and health maintenance functions.

Q: What technology does the Schumann bed developed by ITRI utilize?

A: The Schumann Bed Physiological Feedback Brainwave Cohesion Stress Relief Device uses the measured heart rate variation parameters to control a multi-channel Schumann wave resonance generator, achieving various brainwave cohesion states. This allows the individual's brainwaves to gradually become coherent with Schumann Resonance, resulting in a calming and stress-relieving effect in a short time. This system can also detect sympathetic and parasympathetic nerve energy in real time for objective assessment of stress relief.

Q: What are the characteristics of the technology used in the Schumann Resonance bed developed by ITRI?

A: The Schumann bed frame includes: front-end sensors for continuous electrocardiogram detection, and back-end continuous autonomic nerve calculations, guiding the Schumann resonance mode based on the autonomic nerve state. During the experience, it can automatically and continuously record multiple physiological data points and automatically interpret and generate an experience report. The entire resonance device is ergonomically designed and coupled through the bed frame.

Q: What are the advantages of the technology used in the Schumann bed developed by ITRI?

A:

■ Using Earth's natural frequencies as rhythmic frequencies

- The overtone spectrum of Schumann Resonance in nature is approximately in the frequency range of 5–50 Hz, which are naturally occurring frequencies on Earth.

-Heart waves (ECG) and brain waves (EEG) in a state of heart-brain harmony—located in the Schumann spectrum, i.e., a state of unity between heart and brain (a state of harmony between man and nature).

(*Physiological signals are highly complex over long distances)

■ Using autonomic nervous system balance as a measure and pattern guide

- The balance of the autonomic nervous system is determined by using signals output from the autonomic nervous system and performing real-time multi-signal comparison calculations.

- Select the appropriate parts to guide Schumann resonance, simulating the "Small Heavenly Circuit" energy recharge process in the human body.

■ The system includes a front-end physiological signal monitoring device, and a back-end multi-signal analysis platform and participant reporting system.

- The user wears a monitoring device that detects the user's heart rate interval (RRI) and derived nonlinear multiple physiological signals.

-Record relevant personal data and subjective and objective stress assessments and questionnaires.

-After the experience, statistics on various autonomic nervous system indicators simultaneously generate a "flower of life" for the participant.

-Experts systematically compared the dos and don'ts of diet, medication, and daily necessities.

Q: What are the applications of the Schumann bed?

A:

Q: Why does the Schumann Resonance control box need carbon dioxide and temperature and humidity detectors?

A:

1. The Importance of Carbon Dioxide in the Human Body

The human body intensifies breathing whenever it feels uncomfortable. This abnormal frequency directly causes the nervous system to feel oxygen deficiency, simultaneously altering both the body's internal environment and the external atmosphere. High temperatures reduce surface CO2, while low temperatures reduce it. In winter, plants and animals reduce metabolism, much like how plastic bags help humans cope with excessive breathing, stabilizing the body and preventing over-excitement. High CO2 and low oxygen levels trigger different mechanisms in the body: one causes blood acidification, the other prevents blood cells from carrying oxygen, leading to different physiological responses. The brainstem and medulla oblongata detect high carbon dioxide levels and thus increase respiration. If oxygen is sufficient and carbon dioxide levels decrease, breathing slows; high CO2 levels cause a faster heartbeat. Many chronic diseases, cancers, and dementias may be caused by excessive carbon dioxide leading to body acidification.

If the Earth's Schumann resonances malfunction, affecting the flow and balance of CO2, it can create a feeling of oxygen deficiency. The Schumann resonances are designed to facilitate air exchange between different parts of the Earth. However, if these resonances malfunction, air exchange becomes obstructed, leading to increased CO2 levels in those areas. Since CO2 absorbs heat, it's been observed that satellite cloud images of the affected areas showed higher infrared spectra before earthquakes. Satellite infrared spectra should reflect relatively high levels of carbon dioxide in those areas, creating a greenhouse effect and a state of oxygen deficiency.

Basically, carbon dioxide levels exceeding 1000 ppm (according to environmental regulations) in enclosed spaces can cause drowsiness. Indoor electrical appliances, such as printers, also produce CO2. Environmental regulations stipulate that levels in the first category (elderly, schools, and childcare facilities) should ideally be below 600 ppm. During that period, I carried a carbon dioxide detector everywhere to test levels. I found that the levels inside cars that had been driving on highways for extended periods far exceeded 1000 ppm, even reaching 2000 ppm, leading to long-term health and lifespan damage. Therefore, while drivers' fatigue can only be relieved through actual sleep, even with rest, excessive nitrogen dioxide in enclosed air can still cause sluggishness. Many recent major car accidents have drawn attention to the drivers' rest time, but people have not noticed the oxygen deficiency problem in the confined space during driving.

When the Schumann controller is turned on, the coherent Schumann field can regulate the convection state of the air layer, thus allowing CO2 to be exchanged with the outside atmosphere and reducing CO2 levels. To verify whether Schumann waves can truly improve ventilation and reduce CO2, I returned to the office laboratory and asked my assistant to conduct several tests. We found that Schumann waves can indeed reduce the CO2 levels in the space.

1. Environmental setup and temperature/humidity specifications

  1. Room temperature: 20℃

Studies have found that a constant room temperature is important for health. A room temperature of around 20°C is most comfortable. This temperature helps the body dissipate excess heat. If the room temperature exceeds 25°C, the body begins to absorb heat from the outside, resulting in a feeling of heat. If the room temperature exceeds 35°C, the body's sweat glands activate, dissipating internal heat through sweating, leading to discomfort such as increased heart rate, accelerated blood circulation, dizziness, and fatigue. Conversely, when the temperature is between 8°C and 18°C, the body dissipates heat outwards; when the room temperature is below 4°C, one feels cold. At the same time, 20°C is also the optimal temperature for sleep. When the room temperature is above 24°C, sleep becomes lighter, and the number of body movements and awakenings (the number of times one wakes up and turns over) increases. It is also difficult to enter deep sleep when the sleep temperature is below 18℃.

  1. Humidity: 40%

The room was warm but also slightly dry. Studies have found a close relationship between high flu rates and low humidity. Experts say that when indoor humidity is below 40%, dust, bacteria, and other pollutants easily adhere to mucous membranes, irritating the throat and causing coughs. It can also easily trigger respiratory illnesses such as bronchitis and asthma. However, excessive humidity is also detrimental to health; people may experience nausea, loss of appetite, irritability, fatigue, and dizziness. A study from the University of Otago in New Zealand found that living in damp, moldy rooms increases the risk of children developing asthma and eczema, among other allergic reactions. Mold and other fungi also thrive in high-humidity environments.

Experts say that indoor humidity should ideally be between 40% and 80% in summer and between 30% and 60% in winter. For the elderly and children, the ideal indoor humidity is 45% to 50%, while for those with respiratory illnesses such as asthma, it's between 40% and 50%. In summer, outdoor humidity is high on rainy days, so windows should be opened less often; on sunny days, windows should be opened more frequently for ventilation and dehumidification. Moisture-absorbing boxes or desiccants can be placed in wardrobes and cabinets. In winter, when the air is dry, a humidifier can be used. It's important to note that if using a humidifier, it's best to use purified water, and the machine should be cleaned and disinfected regularly.

Q: Does Schumann Resonance have any effect on the magnetic field of the home environment?

A:

In a normal atmosphere, if the air composition is normal, celestial bodies like the moon and sun will transmit light normally. However, if there are abnormalities in the atmosphere, whether it's changes in the ionosphere (including Schumann resonance anomalies) or abnormalities in the atmospheric particles or air itself, the color spectrum of transmitted light will change. This is the indirect observation of various blood moons or celestial spectral anomalies, which is actually a very scientific phenomenon. So, what happens to the human body when these natural phenomena are abnormal, including natural Schumann resonance anomalies? The most scientific and complete clinical paper (Does Schumann resonance affect our blood pressure) is this one, exploring the impact of natural Schumann resonance anomalies on blood pressure, and obtaining positive results. This study also confirmed that many earthquake enthusiasts experience abnormal heartbeats or bodily sensations during earthquakes (due to ionospheric anomalies), with some even experiencing heart discomfort or dizziness. This demonstrates how anomalies in the Earth as a whole affect the human body's bioelectrical systems. Because Schumann waves can reduce interference from environmental electromagnetic waves, they thus reduce spatial disorder or entropy.

Therefore, anomalies in Earth's Schumann spectrum affect the flow and balance of carbon dioxide, causing people to feel oxygen deficiency. The Schumann resonances are meant to facilitate gas exchange between different parts of the Earth. However, after the anomaly, gas exchange becomes obstructed, leading to an increase in local carbon dioxide levels. Because carbon dioxide absorbs heat, it has been observed that the infrared spectrum of satellite cloud images of the affected areas was higher before earthquakes. Satellite infrared spectra should reflect relatively high local carbon dioxide levels, creating a greenhouse effect and a state of oxygen deficiency. In the human body, any discomfort will trigger increased ventilation. This frequency anomaly directly causes nerve clusters to feel oxygen deficiency, simultaneously altering both the human body and the external atmosphere. High temperatures reduce surface carbon dioxide levels. Conversely, in cold winters, plants and animals reduce metabolism, much like how humans use plastic bags to cope with excessive ventilation, stabilizing their condition and preventing over-excitement. High carbon dioxide and low oxygen levels trigger different mechanisms in the human body: one acidifies the blood, while the other prevents blood cells from carrying oxygen, leading to different physiological responses. The brainstem and medulla oblongata detect high carbon dioxide levels and then increase respiration. If oxygen is sufficient and carbon dioxide levels decrease, respiration slows down, hence the faster heart rate associated with high carbon dioxide. Therefore, carbon dioxide itself isn't inherently dangerous; the problem lies in its aggregation and aggregation. Thus, carbon dioxide levels can be used to assess the suitability of indoor ventilation or air conditioning systems, primarily using carbon dioxide as an indicator of ventilation. Since carbon dioxide is a metabolic byproduct of human respiration, a significant increase in carbon dioxide concentration indicates insufficient indoor ventilation. Therefore, if the carbon dioxide level remains high even with the door open, it means that actual ventilation is inadequate. Detecting high carbon dioxide levels warrants a comprehensive review of the overall feng shui.

Q: What is precision medicine? How is it related to the Schumann bed?

A:

A hot topic lately is "precision medicine," but what exactly is it? Many people confuse it with "personalized medicine." However, a more precise distinction between precision medicine and traditional medicine is as follows:

For example, if patients A and B have the same disease, under "traditional treatment," they would both use treatment method A and drug A. However, under "precision medicine," although patients A and B have the same disease, after comparing and analyzing genetic data, they can be given personalized treatment recommendations. For example, patient A is suitable for treatment method A and drug A, while patient B is suitable for treatment method B and drug B. In this way, the concept of precision medicine can make the use of treatment methods and drugs more precise. Currently, the development of personalized medicine and targeted therapy falls under the concept of precision medicine. Its main meaning is to accurately understand the occurrence and progression of diseases, and to make disease prevention and treatment more precise by effectively exploring the causes of diseases and combining medical scientific research and interdisciplinary technologies.

  • What is the connection between precision medicine and the Schumann bed?

I was quite pleased to hear that "precision medicine" has the same medical framework as traditional Chinese medicine, which emphasizes "different medicines for the same disease." My motivation isn't disappointment with precision medicine itself, but rather anticipation for its "evolution." The original precision medicine's adherence to "genetic information," and therefore everything else in medicine, must be broken down. In particular, it's crucial to understand that while engineering principles typically operate on linear systems, the human biological system is nonlinear and possesses immense quantum uncertainty at the microscopic level (similar to typhoon weather prediction). However, current precision medicine hasn't incorporated energy medicine, quantum medicine, or even religious philosophy and personal life history—it's merely groping at the material level, like the blind men and the elephant. This is entirely different from the research on the Schumann bed.

Q: Are there any precautions when using the Schumann bed developed by ITRI?

A: Pregnant women and those with pacemakers should not use this product.

Q: When experiencing the Schumann bed, which air sign mode is most suitable?

A: The initial design of the Schumann bed's open-circuit mode was chosen because, unlike the closed-circuit mode, it couldn't adjust to the current physiological signals. Therefore, the open-circuit mode offers several specific modes for users to choose from. This utilizes accumulated physiological signals to design a simplified, automated version of the resonance mode, facilitating scheduled maintenance and individual operation. It provides four automated modes, each corresponding to one of four experience styles: Water represents emotions, Air represents the mind, Fire represents energy, and Earth represents the body.

Q: What are the reasons for the various sensations experienced while using the Schumann bed?

A:

- The balance of the autonomic nervous system is determined by using signals output from the autonomic nervous system and performing real-time pattern comparison calculations.

- Select the appropriate parts to guide Schumann resonance, simulating the "Small Heavenly Circuit" energy recharge process in the human body.

The body itself is a sensor, capable of responding to sensations. When lying on the Schumann resonance bed, the sensations that begin to occur signify that the heart's frequency spectrum, after undergoing Schumann resonance, stabilizes and increases in the 7-8Hz range, allowing the heart to transmit stronger energy to the extremities. Any sensations experienced during the experience represent the "Eight Touches" in Qigong—eight special tactile sensations. The occurrence of the Eight Touches indicates that the body has entered a state of subtle energy fluctuation.

"Itching": After obtaining Qi, the flow of true Qi is vigorous, and there may be itching in certain areas or on the scalp. This indicates that the flow of Qi and blood is beginning to be smooth, and the wound is beginning to heal.

"Numbness": This indicates that Qi can pass through, but blood cannot. It usually occurs in the meridians of the internal organs when the meridians are not yet fully open.

"Wood": The numbness is even more severe, it's like wood. It means that neither qi nor blood can get through.

"Sourness" indicates that the meridians are open, but there is insufficient qi and blood.

"Expansion": This means that there is plenty of Qi. When practicing Qigong, after entering a state of tranquility, the true Qi circulates and you will feel your skin swell, especially in your limbs.

"Pain": Simple pain indicates blood stasis.

"Heat": The manifestation of internal energy flowing and surging; the location of the heat sensation varies from person to person.

"Large": During the process of circulating Qi, you may feel your body expanding. This indicates that the Qi is flowing smoothly and there is a slight expansion of the meridians.

"Small": During the process of circulating Qi, you feel your body shrinking. This is because the true Qi enters from the outside and concentrates in the Dantian.

"Lightness": After entering a state of tranquility during practice, as the true qi flows upward, you will feel your body floating in the air.

"Heaviness": After entering a state of tranquility during practice, as the true qi flows downwards with each exhale, one will feel an unusual heaviness in the body.

"Cool": After entering the heart-kidney communication, the comfortable feeling of "coolness to the heart and spleen" represents the upward tide of kidney water in the Ren and Du channels.

"Brightness": Some people may experience a bright light in their pineal gland, which may appear and disappear intermittently, and may include purple light or green chains. This is due to unobstructed meridians, vigorous vitality, and active bioelectricity.

"Passing gas": You feel a warm flow from top to bottom, a slight gurgling sound, increased intestinal peristalsis, and pass gas (farting).

Other symptoms include tearing, tinnitus, and increased field of vision.

Q: Can cancer patients lie on a Schumann bed?

A:

Scientists now know that the p53 protein plays a crucial role in preventing cancer. It not only attempts to repair damaged DNA but also causes irreparable cells to die, essentially acting as a master switch for the cell. I previously read an article that discussed how autonomic nervous system balance can regulate the p53 protein, which is the mechanism by which the autonomic nervous system guides the Schumann bed to assist in cancer fighting. This is why cancer patients need to constantly monitor their autonomic nervous system for signs of balance. If the autonomic nervous system is moving towards balance, it means that the body's immune system is enabling the p53 protein to exert its inhibitory effect on cancer cells. You can meditate on videos similar to the cancer system being devoured: (Link: http://jcb.rupress.org/content/suppl/2015/07/06/jcb.201502089.DC1/JCB_201502089_V1.mp4)

After chemotherapy, the body's vitality is severely depleted. It is strongly recommended that those with serious illnesses constantly monitor the state of their autonomic nervous system, as it is a biomarker of the body's self-healing ability. The Schumann bed can be used more for sub-health and improving quality of life. However, if used after being tormented by chemotherapy, it truly requires long-term effort and adjustment. Furthermore, the state of the autonomic nervous system must be monitored continuously. Therefore, even when using the open-pathway version for conditioning, or engaging in any activities you feel will improve autonomic nervous system balance (walking, yoga, qigong, etc.), it is still necessary to regularly observe the current state of the autonomic nervous system and understand the appropriateness of the activity frequency. At the same time, it is essential to relax emotionally, because the body's immune cells are focused on fighting the disease and should not be disturbed by too many worldly affairs.

Q: How long can I sleep on a Schumann bed each day? When is the best time to sleep on it? Should I follow the meridian flow theory?

A:

Basically, when the body is unbalanced, practicing Qigong is about cultivating the "living midnight hour," which is the time when the body's internal Qi is activated. In Taoist terms, this refers to the refining of essence into Qi, a state of stillness and awareness where the Qi is activated. It doesn't require adhering to the traditional meridian flow. Once the body generates Qi through the "living midnight hour" and achieves balance, it will automatically return to the traditional meridian flow rhythm. Therefore, there are no specific rules about how long you need to lie down each day; it's basically related to how tired you feel. A normal, healthy person can restore balance after one round (30 minutes of opening the pathways). When a person is balanced and has energy, they won't want to lie down and will want to get up and work. A nursing professor at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital shared that she was initially too tired to write her thesis, but after lying down for a few rounds, she felt refreshed and immediately got up, finishing the thesis in just a few hours. She said that when the body has energy, it can accomplish much with minimal effort, completing tasks that would normally take several days. Those with chronic illnesses (such as cancer) or during a cold can try this method multiple times.

One person who frequently experienced fatigue due to dialysis shared their experience. Because of the weakened blood and energy levels caused by dialysis, they often had to lie down several times a day. They observed that the nighttime dialysis session helped them fall asleep and improve sleep quality. They also noticed that after the session, they experienced easier flatulence and felt more energetic upon waking, despite feeling tired in the morning. Therefore, the timing of the dialysis session can be determined based on individual habits. Studies have shown that if one frequently stays up late when the liver or gallbladder meridians are activated, the overall energy of these meridians will eventually decrease or even disappear. Therefore, a normal sleep schedule should involve going to bed before the liver and gallbladder meridians activate (around midnight) to allow the body to repair itself and eliminate daytime fatigue, thus ensuring high-quality sleep. (The activation of meridian energy in a normal, healthy person follows the meridian flow, but modern people taking medication has disrupted this original rhythm.)

Q: Can children lie on a Schumann bed? What are the benefits of lying on a Schumann bed for children?

A:

Of course! Please use it with an adult present.

UNICEF clearly states that the most crucial aspect of early childhood development is not language ability, but sensory integration. Therefore, many children with sensory integration dysfunction exhibit symptoms similar to attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) due to restlessness, impulsivity, severe distractibility, or learning difficulties. ADHD often co-occurs with sensory integration dysfunction symptoms. Because excessive consumption of high-calorie foods and sweets can negatively impact ADHD and has adverse health effects, parents are advised to limit their children's intake of sweets. Furthermore, many activities that promote sensory integration in children involve rhythmic elements.

In the past, the principle of using brainwave resonance music to help manage the frequency of ADHD children was based on the fact that the brainwave frequency of ADHD children is too fast or unbalanced. Using specially made music and rhythms to help regulate the brainwaves of ADHD children can help balance them.

There have been past cases involving autistic children whose autonomic nervous system exhibits nearly 100% parasympathetic activity (being isolated in their own world). Clinical naturopathic doctors have used natural nutritional prescriptions containing turmeric in conjunction with the Schumann bed, and parents have reported positive results. One parent of an autistic child also had their child experience the Schumann bed, and the child greatly enjoyed the autonomic rhythmic movements it provided.

Normal children are generally considered to have a "pure yang" constitution, making them prone to excessive excitement and insomnia at night. Using the Schumann bed helps them fall asleep quickly, and they are less likely to stay in bed during the day, with more regular bowel movements. When children use it, it's also helpful to monitor their autonomic nervous system data. Generally, children's heart rate is higher than adults (the heart-to-body ratio is inverse), but their cardiac elasticity (SDNN) is quite high, often exceeding 60ms. Therefore, children generally have better immunity than the elderly and recover from injuries faster. The brainwave baseline of children under fourteen years old is Berger rhythm, almost entirely dominated by Schumann waves, which explains their innocent nature and strong creativity and imagination. As children grow older, cardiac elasticity (SDNN) gradually decreases. Therefore, some anti-aging clinics also use the Cardiac Elastoscopy Neural Network (SDNN) data age model as a reference indicator for anti-aging and reversing aging.

Q: Will there be any side effects from frequently using the Schumann bed?

A: The side effect is that once I don't have it, I feel like something is missing from my life.

Q: Will using a Schumann Resonance detector during menstruation have any effect?

A: During menstruation, the flow is mostly dominated by the parasympathetic nervous system, and the discomfort should lessen after the experience.

Q: Why can't pregnant women and people with pacemakers use the Schumann Resonance detector?

A: This group is considered a high-risk group due to uncertainty. To avoid risks, this group is strictly prohibited from participating in this activity.
